Mohun Bagan and India star Syed Rahim Nabi has been awarded the “Indian Footballer of the Year” award at the 4th edition of the Indian Football Awards organised by the Football Players Association of India (FPAI). The glamorous event was held at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa, Panjim (Goa) yesterday.

Salgaocar’s Francis Fernandes won the “Fans Player of the Year” award, while Air India striker Manandeep Singh clinched the “Young Player of the Year” award.

Trevor Morgan received the “Coach of the Year” award ahead of Armando Colaco (Dempo SC) and Derrick Pereira (Pune FC).

I-League champions Dempo SC were crowned the “Team of the Year”.

The FPAI also handed over special memento to Mahesh Gawli, Climax Lawrence and Samir Naik. The trio retired from international football this year after playing for India for a long time.
