BREAKING NEWS: India U19 girls advance to Qualification Round 2

The Indian U19 Women’s national team has advanced to the Qualification Round 2 for the AFC U19 Women’s Championship 2013.

The Indian team won their first match 1-0 against Bangladesh courtesy to a goal by Nikhila Thumbayil on Saturday and they took on Uzbekistan in the final Round 1 Qualifier today.

Anita Rawat scored the lone of the game to hand India a 1-0 win against Uzbekistan and a spot Qualification Round 2. India finishes at the top of the Group A table with six points out of two matches.

The Indian team will join the teams placed 6 and 7 in the last edition of the competition, the two other group winners and the three group runner-ups from the Qualification Round 1.

The teams will be divided into two groups of four teams and the matches will be played in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
