The SAFF Championship 2013 will be played from September 20th to October 2nd according to a decision announced by the SAFF Executive Committee.

The SAFF Executive Committee met at the AFC House, Kuala Lumpur at the sidelines of various Asian Football Confederation (AFC) meetings on Wednesday.

The tournament will be hosted by Nepal and the Indian national team will be looking forward to defend the title it won at the last edition of the South Asian Championship played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi in December 2011 [+ watch the video].

Meanwhile, the SAFF Executive Committee has also decided to to host the SAFF U16 Championship 2013 in India. The tournament will be played in May with Goa’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as the most likely venue according to SAFF sources.
