Young Sikkimese footballer Pranay Thapa has written a book named “They get what they want” and it is set to be formally launched next week.

Thapa, a MBA student at a reputed Institute in Bangalore, hails from the Western Sikkimese town of Gyalshing and he plays his football for BDFA Super Division outfit Students Union FC.

His first fictional book revolves around three main protagonists based in Brazil and it also gives a message which is so connected with the present scenario of women empowerment prevailing in the country.

“My first love has always been football and being in the field playing the game has always given me tremendous happiness but reading books and writing has been my other passion in life and I had this long cherished dream of writing a book which has finally come true,” Thapa said.

The book published by the Triangle Printing House will be formally launched in Bangalore next week and they will be available  to the public in the market. Thapa is also planning to conduct a separate launch in Kolkata in February. The Kolkata launch would see Indian international and East Bengal captain Sanju Pradhan gracing the occasion as the chief guest along with various other players.

The Sikkimese footballer is actively involved in various initiatives including his recently launched charity “Sasonian Foundation”. The charity organisation helps the poor and needy people by distributing food, clothes and even monetary assistance.

“This charity is quite new but I am trying my best to promote it even further and plan to invest a portion of the profit which I will get from the book sales towards it, I also expect many like minded individuals to join me in this noble cause,” he told.
