The Indian national team finished 2nd in the football competition of the 6th SAF Games 1993 hosted in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
India lost the final against neighbouring Nepal in a closely contested final on December 18, 1993. Both teams were locked to a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation time and extra time. Nepal won the penalty shoot-out 4-3 to win the 6th SAF Games 1993.
