The FPAI Indian Football Awards 2013 took place at the Bombay Gymkhana Club today honouring the best performers of Indian football in the season 2012/13.

This years glittering awards were organised by the Football Players Association of India (FPAI) along with the Bombay Gymkhana with Mayanti Langer and Arunava Chaudhuri hosting the event.

The gala event commenced at 20.00 IST (16.30 CET / 15.30 GMT) with many celebrities from the football world and Bollywood like Abhishek Bachan taking part in the first FPAI Indian Football Awards in Mumbai.

The FPAI gave away awards in following six categories…


FPAI Indian Player of the Year
Winner: Lenny Rodrigues (Churchill Brothers SC)

Other Nominees: Sunil Chhetri (Churchill Brothers SC), Syed Rahim Nabi (Mohun Bagan AC), Mehtab Hossain (East Bengal Club), Clifford Miranda (Dempo SC)


FPAI Young Player of the Year
Winner: Alwyn George (Pailan Arrows)

Other Nominees: Mohammed Rafique (Prayag United SC), Holicharan Narzary (Pailan Arrows), Bikramjit Singh (Churchill Brothers SC), Lalrindika Ralte (East Bengal Club)


FPAI Foreign Player of the Year
Winner: Ranti Martins Soleye (Prayag United SC, Nigeria)

Other Nominees: Carlos Hernández Valverde (Prayag United SC, Costa Rica, Roberto ‘Beto’ Mendes Silva (Churchill Brothers SC), Pierre Djidjia Douhou (Pune FC, Ivory Coast), Chidi Edeh (East Bengal Club, Nigeria)


FPAI Coach of the Year
Winner: Derrick Pereira (Pune FC)

FPAI Best Organised Venue of the Year
