All India Football Federation’s Elite Academy comprising of the U-19 National Team have convincingly won all their practice matches in Goa over the last couple of months. The squad got together again in Goa on April 5.

The U-19 National Team is presently preparing for the AFC U-19 Qualifiers to be held in Qatar later this year where India have been drawn with Uzbekistan, Qatar, Turkmenistan and Nepal in Group A. The nucleus of the Elite Academy had helped India to the Final Phase of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in Tehran, 2012.

The Elite Academy boys who have been practicing under the watchful eyes of Colm Joseph Toal, Head Coach, Youth Development, reigned supreme against Teams comprising of current I-League and Goa Super League Players. The Academy boys, who created a number of chances in the practice matches they played, displayed good quality team work on the field. They have maintained a clean slate in all the practice matches so far.

Head Coach Colm Toal told AIFF Media: “We still have a lot of work to do and are looking forward to the I-League clubs returning to training.”
