The German national team will face Armenia in a benefit match on June 6 in Mainz.

The benefit match will complete Germany’s prepartions for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as Joachim Löw’s side are scheduled to depart for Brazil one day after the game.

The DFB Egidius Braun Foundation will organize the fixture, with the proceeds going to the various foundations of the German FA (DFB) and the League Association.

“We’re delighted to have concluded our plans for the World Cup with this a third friendly against Armenia following the ones against Poland and Cameroon”, said General Secretary Helmut Sandrock on the DFB website.

“The match isn’t just important from a sporting point of view. The proceeds from the game will ensure the foundations are able to continue their excellent work and various projects into the future.”

Armenia are currently ranked 35th in the FIFA World Rankings. Both national teams have played two matches so far, with Germany winning both encounters (5-1 & 4-0 in the 1998 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers).
