Pune FC Under-15s got off to a winning start thrashing Madhya Pradesh DFA 5-1 in a Group A match of the Manchester United Premier Cup 2014 at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune on Sunday.

A hattrick from Jagdeesh Gadewad (13th, 20th and 39th minute) along with goals from striker Cladeo Nongpluh (16th) and medio Sahil Bhokare (22nd) handed Pune FC all three points. Madhya Pradesh DFA pulled a goal late in second half injury time through Md. Asif.

The win powered Pune FC to the top of Group A with three points after PIFA and Ernakulam DFA Academy, Kerala, the other two teams of the group played out a goalless draw.

Pune FC took the lead midway through the first half as Jagdeesh tapped home a rebound after Cladeo’s initial shot was blocked by the goalkeeper.

Three minutes later, Cladeo scored with a well taken shot from inside the box to make it two. In the final minute of the half, another close range finish from Jagdeesh gave Pune FC a 3-0 lead going into the breather.

Pune FC increased their advantage almost immediately in the second half. Medio Sahil made no mistake slotting home playmaker Omega Vanlalhruaitluanga’s inch-perfect cross into the box.

The home side kept on pressing and finally got their fifth goal a minute from regulation time as Jagdeesh completed his hattrick. The opponents however, pulled a goal back through Asif in injury time to deny Pune FC a clean sheet.
