Sporting Clube de Goa will hope to get back to winning ways when they take on Rangdajied United FC in the I-League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong on Wednesday.

The two clubs have met twice already this season, with Sporting Goa coming away victorious on both occasions. In the I-League, Sporting Clube de Goa registered a 3-0 victory over their opponents in October, while in the recent Federation Cup, the Goan outfit sailed into the next round after overcoming Rangdajied 2-0.

Sporting Clube de Goa has not been able to conjure up a win in their last six outings, which has seen them slip down the table from the 2nd to 6th position.

Rangdajied on the other hand has witnessed their graph rise in the opposite direction, as they have moved up to the 8th position, hoping to stave off relegation.

After picking up goal machine Ranti Martins in the transfer window, he has transformed Rangdajied’s fortunes, scoring six goals in as many matches.

On the other hand, Sporting Clube de Goa’s goals this season have come from various sources, with Boima Karpeh, Kalu Ogba, Beeven D’Mello and Victorino Fernandes all very productive.

The Flaming Oranje are currently on 29 points from 20 matches, while Rangdajied have 24 points from 21 games.

This will be Sporting Clube de Goa’s last away match of the season, as they look to finish the season on a high, with three home games against Salgaocar, Churchill Brothers and Bengaluru FC to look forward to.
