India climbs seven spots in the FIFA World Ranking

The Indian national team has climbed seven spots in the latest FIFA World Ranking.

India is now ranked a joint 145th in the world (24th in Asia) together with Singapore. Both teams have 144 points to their tally.

Afghanistan (122nd) remains the best team from the South Asian (SAFF) region ahead of India, the Maldives (153rd), Nepal (159th), Pakistan (161st), Bangladesh (163rd), Sri Lanka (173rd) and Bhutan (207th).

Iran (37th) has overtaken Japan (47th) to be ranked the best team in Asia. Uzbekistan (53rd) are the third best team from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Spain continues to lead the FIFA World Ranking ahead of second-placed Germany. Portugal have gained one spot to claim the third place. Colombia (4th) and Uruguay (5th) complete the Top 5.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be released on May 8.
