Three first half goals helped the AIFF U-19 Elite Academy to register a comfortable 3-1 win against SESA FC in an exhibition match played at Duler Stadium, Goa.

SESA FC, who currently feature in the top tier of the Goa Professional setup, came into the game as firm favourites. The Goan outfit were quickly off the blocks and dominated the early exchanges post kick-off

The deadlock was finally broken in the 25th minute when Robinson Singh’s goal-bound shot was blocked by the keeper, only for Milan Basumatary to pounce on the rebound and bury the ball into the back of the net from close range.

Robinson was back in the thick of action eight minutes later, this time with a through ball that split the SESA defensive line and found its way into the path of Kamalpreet Singh. The winger unselfishly set up Delbert Fernandes with a measured pass and the subsequent acrobatic finish found its way into the back of the net.

A well worked move down the right flank saw Kamalpreet providing his second assist of the game – this time setting up wing-back Shabaz Khan with a through ball which was met by an equally impressive finish into the far corner.

At the interval, the score line was 3-0 in the favour of AIFF U-19.

On to the second half and SESA FC’s efforts of getting back into the game received a massive blow after their Centre Back Caiton was sent off in the 65th minute.

The Goans pulled one back in the 70th through a headed effort from Lenston Alphonso off a corner but it was all too little too late as the game headed into the closing stages.

This was AIFF U-19’s Second Successive victory in Goa. The Next friendly game is scheduled for July 19.
