All India Football Federation (AIFF) General Secretary Kushal Das visited the Indian Women’s national team preparing for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games on Monday.

During the interaction with the players and coaching staff, Das assured the Women’s national team players will get more exposure tours, international tournaments, longer camps and overall more support from the governing body in the times to come.

“We all know how well the Women’s team is doing at the moment,” he told all members of the contingent at the Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai.

“We have high expectations from them. We at AIFF would give our best at providing full support to Women’s football.”

“There will be more exposure tours, more number of international tournaments to take part in and longer camps,” he added.

The 31-member squad, which is currently ranked 50th in the latest FIFA World Rankings, is currently training for the Asian Games. A final list of 18 players will be travelling to South Korea for the Asian Games in September. The contingent will also be visiting China for an exposure tour.

In their third practice match on Saturday against Colaba U-19 Academy, the girls rode on second half goals from striker Bala Devi (61st) and midfielder Kamala Devi (79th) to down the boys 2-1. The Colaba team halved the margin in the 87th minute.
