Chennaiyin FC player-cum-manager Marco Materazzi and defender Mikaël Silvestre faced the media at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) clash against FC Goa on Wednesday.
Talking to the media gathering, Marco Materazzi revealed that he won’t be starting against FC Goa, but he might come on as a substitute if needed.
“For me we have the best team,” the 2006 FIFA World Cup winner stated while asked about his team. “We had lesser time to train than others but we have a squad full of professionals so I am confident about our chances.”
Mikaël Silvestre is also looking forward to the Hero Indian Super League season. “I am not in my prime anymore but I have had good sessions with the boys so will try to perform to my best if I get the chance to play,” the Frenchman told.
“There was a lot of excitement among the players especially in the first game when there were a lot of physical challenges,” the former Manchester United star commented on the matches so far. “In the first game the artificial pitch made it difficult but the second match had a great flow and good atmosphere.”
