Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City settle for goalless draw

Kerala Blaster FC v Mumbai City FC

Kerala Blasters FC took on Mumbai City FC in a Hero Indian Super League (ISL) game at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on Wednesday.

Kerala Blaster had the first chance to open the score sheet just seven minutes into the game, when Mumbai City goalkeeper Subrata Pal pulled out a superb save to deny Milagres Gonsalves’s header.

Both sides were looking for a win in front more than 41,000 fans in Kochi, but none of the teams were able to find the back of the net in the first half.

The home side increased the pressure in the second half, while Mumbai looked quite tired in the second half. Kerala Blasters had a few attempts, but they were not lucky in front of Subrata Pal’s goal.

Tiago Ribeiro had the best chance for the visitors in the second half, when the Swiss midfielder hit the post with a powerful shot.

But both sides had to settle for a goalless draw after 90 minutes as Mumbai City FC missed an opportunity to jump to the top of the table.
