Atlético de Kolkata have won the inaugural 2014 Hero Indian Super League (ISL)  with a 1-0 win against Kerala Blasters FC in the final played at Mumbai’s D.Y. Patil Stadium on Saturday.

Mohammed Rafique emerged the hero of the night as the substitute handed Atlético the title with his injury time goal.

Kerala Blasters looked the better side in the game, but they had to pay for their poor finishing. Player of Indian origin Michael Chopra had the best chances to put his side on the winning road, but his shots were twice denied spectacularly by Atlètico’s goalkeeper Apoula Edel.

Atlético de Kolkata took advantage of their final chance to claim the silverware in regulation time, when Mohammed Rafique headed home a corner in the final seconds of the exciting final.
