Shillong Lajong FC have announced the re-signing of Brazilian Uilliams Souza and former captain Minchol Son.

Lajong has also secured the services of Nigerian Penn Orji. Penn has been hugely successful in his playing career in India, last playing for Hero Indian Super League (ISL) finalists Kerala Blasters FC. Orji has been playing in India for the past five years with Kolkata giants East Bengal Club and Mohammedan Sporting Club having previously played for JCT. He has joined the Reds this season boosting the attacking threat of the team.

Uilliams and Minchol were part of the Lajong team in the I-league last season with the former scoring seven goals for the club and Minchol at the heart of the defence helping the team secure a 6th place in the I-League. Both players are very familiar with the club and cannot wait to play in front of the Lajong Fans again this season.

The club will also retain the services of Cornell Glen, who scored 14 goals last season in the I-League.

Larsing M. Sawyan said, “I am very excited about the prospects of Uilliams, Minchol, Penn and Glen joining a strong Lajong contingent to help the team do better than last season. We hope they live up to the expectations of the club and fans and wish them all the very best this year.”

Shillong Lajong FC will play their first match of the new I-League season at home against local rivals Royal Wahingdoh FC on the January 18 at 16.30 IST.
