Mumbai FC coach Khalid Jamil is not going to be carried away by the team’s back-to-back home wins against Salgaocar SC and Royal Wahingdoh FC in the last two I-League matches. Instead the knowledgeable and unassuming Jamil sounded a note of caution as his team prepares to take on debutantes Bharat FC in theirHero I-League  Round 7 match at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune on Friday.

“Yes, we are high on confidence after we won both of our last two games, but it’s going to be very difficult to defeat Bharat FC. They are a very strong team and in the previous match they played very well to win,” said Jamil, referring to the Pune club, who despite having two players sent off, managed to score a 2-0 win over Salgaocar, last Sunday.

Jamil also noted that Bharat FC’s strength is the defence. “They (Bharat FC) have plenty of experience with some quality players and their defending is their strong point,” Jamil further stated.

Talking about his team, Jamil pointed out that they have to be positive. “We have to adopt a positive approach and not bother too much about the result. A win is certainly good, but a point is also satisfying. To achieve that we must be alert from the start and try our best,” Jamil mentioned.

The Mumbai FC coach also stated that he will try to maintain the same team as the last match, but hinted that skipper Climax Lawrence could be included in the starting line-up. “I may retain the team which played against Wahingdoh or maybe make a couple of changes. Including Climax for the game is one option, but I will decide on the final composition of the team only after watching the boys during the evening practice session,” Jamil said.

Mumbai FC, who had lost all the earlier three away ties, would certainly hope to earn their maiden win away from home. With a tally of seven points from six games Mumbai FC are currently in 8th position and a win would lift them to a higher place in the 11-team standings. On the other hand Bharat FC are second from last with five points from the same number of match played.

The match will kick-off at 19.00 IST.
