I-League: Sporting Clube de Goa v Shillong Lajong FC

Ten men Sporting Clube de Goa were held by ten men Shillong Lajong FC to a 1-1 draw in a Hero I-League match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Saturday. Both goals came in the first half.

Sporting Goa opened the scoring after just four minutes when Odafe Onyeka Okolie used his sublime skill to send a neat through ball for Anthony Wolfe who coolly finished it off with a piercing drive.

Three minutes before the break, Lajong drew level after Cornell Glen, who had hit the post earlier, made no mistake with this opportunity to fire in the equaliser.

The second half was just as lively, with Odafe rattling the cross bar with a stinging drive from the edge of the box.

Early in the second half Lajong goalkeeper Vishal Kaith received a straight red card for handling the ball outside the box, after Wolfe was through on goal.

In the closing stages, Sporting Goa defender Joyner Lourenco saw red after receiving his second caution of the game for a reckless tackle.

Sporting Goa striker Odafa Oneyka Okoli was adjudged the Hero of the Match.
