Milan Basumatary continued his sizzling goal scoring form as he notched up another brace to hand AIFF Elite Academy an easy 2-0 win over Hindustan FC in an U-19 I-League match at the DSK Campus in Pune on Tuesday (April 28, 2015).

The Academy boys dominated proceedings by racking up constant waves of attack, which were led by Suman Sarkr and Milan Basumatary.

The deadlock was broke in the 10th minute, when Suman Sarkar denied the opponent to build up the game with a well-timed intercepting run; following a defence-splitting ball for Milan Basumatary, who tucked in sweetly way past the opposing goalkeeper.

The duo of Sarkar and Milan proved hefty to deal with for the opponents and the dynamic duo combined once again to score the second goal for the Academy boys. Sarkar stole the ball in the centre and teed-up Milan Basumatary through a delightful air ball over Hindustan FC’s defence. Milan lashed on to his opportunity and tugged it into the bottom corner to complete his brace.

At the half time the score line read 2-0

The Academy boys upped their ante minutes into the second half, as Daniel Lalhlimpuia and Malsawmzuala’s crisp passing move distressed Hindustan FC on two occasion.

Next, Milan Basumatary’s fierce drive narrowly missed the post and second later Malsawmzuala’s attempt went agonisingly close – over the post.

The scoreline stayed the same at fulltime as the Academy boys notched another win to maintain their position on the top of the table with ten Points in four matches.

The AIFF Elite Academy will play their next game against Mohan Bagan AC on April 30, 2015.
