India climb to 141st position in latest FIFA World Ranking

The Indian national team has climbed six spots to be ranked 141st in the latest FIFA World Ranking released by football’s world-governing body today.

Stephen Constantine’s team is ranked a joint 141st in the world (22nd in Asia; 161 points) together with the Central African Republic out of a total of 209 countries.

India is now once again the top-ranked team from the South Asian (SAFF) region, ahead of Afghanistan (151st), Bhutan (159th), Bangladesh (166th), Pakistan (170th), Maldives (178th), Nepal (183rd) and Sri Lanka (186th).

Meanwhile Germany continues to top the FIFA World Ranking ahead of Belgium, who overtook Argentina to move into second place, their highest-ever position since the launch of the world ranking. Colombia (4th) and Brazil (5th) complete the Top 5 of the FIFA World Ranking.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be released on July 9, 2015.
