Nike presents modern Werder Bremen Away Kit for 2015-16

Nike presents modern Werder Bremen Away Kit for 2015-16

For the first time in its history, Bundesliga outfit SV Werder Bremen will sport an entirely navy blue away kit. The 2015-16 uniform also features orange details that connect the design to that of past home kits, which employed the color as a highlight to the club’s traditional green.

As on the 2015-16 home kit, the club’s initials, SVW, appear on the back of the away shirt. SVW stands for Sportverein Werder Bremen (Sports Club Werder Bremen). Proud symbols of the club, the new kits are also progressive. They offer the latest in Nike performance innovation, fabric technology, moisture management and environmental sustainability.

NIKE DRI-FIT TECHNOLOGY

Nike Dri-FIT technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts, where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.

The laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in key areas of the kit are designed to improve performance by increasing air circulation to the players’ bodies and helping regulate their temperatures.

The jersey is crafted using a lightweight solid fabric on the sleeves and front, combined with a full mesh back panel to increase airflow and facilitate enhanced movement.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION

Nike places sustainable innovation at the heart of its kits through the use of recycled polyester, delivering unrivalled performance and lower environmental impact.

Each piece of the kit – the shirt, shorts and socks – is constructed with recycled polyester, which is made from recycled plastic bottles that are melted down to produce fine yarn used to create the fabric. Each kit is made with an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has diverted more than two billion plastic bottles from landfills into recycled polyester – enough to cover about 3,500 football pitches.

By using recycled polyester, Nike is also reducing the energy consumed in the manufacturing process by up to 30 percent compared to virgin polyester. For more information, visit nikebetterworld.com.
