Football industry to discuss “Football’s Digital Transformation” in Berlin

The International Football Arena (IFA) will welcome tech-world specialists and decision-makers from the football industry at the IFA Conference Berlin in the German capital on September 10, 2015. The conference will focus on “Football’s Digital Transformation” with the growing and changing importance of the internet, social media and mobile devices in all areas of the beautiful game.

The IFA Conference Berlin 2015 will take place at the Deutsche Telekom’s Hauptstadtrepräsentanz with various speakers, panelists and experts presenting topics such as “Is Virtual Reality going to turn the world of football upside down”, “Will media rights business become the tomorrow’s wild wild west?”, “What will be the impact of eSports enormous success on the sports industry?”, “Are players going to be turned into flesh-and-blood computers?”, “How will fans consume their football in future?” and “Do ordinary football clubs stand a chance of surviving the digital revolution?”.

The latest line-up of speakers include Andreas Cüppers (Borussia Mönchengladbach), David Greenfield (Adidas Group), Gabrielle Guedj (SNTV, London), Jens Hilgers (Turtle Entertainment GmbH, Berlin), Tom Impallomeni (Virtually Live, San Francisco), Ben Ladkin (Arsenal Media Group, London), Sebastián Lancestremère (Microsoft, Madrid), Kim Rom (Level 99), Benedikt Saltzer and German Schulz (both VfL Wolfsburg), Tobias Sherman (IMG eSports/Gaming, New York), Roman Steuer (Sky Deutschland, München), Dr. Henning Stiegenroth (Deutsche Telekom, Bonn) and Billie Whitehouse (Wearable Experiments, New York).

The IFA Conference Berlin 2015 will also have an Indian football angle as Arunava Chaudhuri (Arunava about Football) and Chris Punnakkattu Daniel (CPD Football) will be in attendance at the event besides many key stakeholders from the football industry.

The International Football Arena (IFA) has been hosting events, fostering debate and inspiring exchange between decision makers in the business of football for over a decade. It started in 1999, with the IFA Conference in Zurich, which has taken place annually ever since. Since 2007, the IFA has also conducted events in Beijing, Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, Rio de Janeiro and Tokye.

The International Football Arena (IFA) will hold its main event in Zurich as usual at the Home of FIFA on November 19, 2015.
