Bengaluru FC were crowned I-League champions for a second time in three years beating Salgaocar FC 2-0 on April 17, 2016. The Ashley Westwood coached side received the I-League trophy after their 0-5 defeat to Mohun Bagan AC today.
Westwood was named I-League Coach of the Year while Amrinder Singh, John Johnson and Eugeneson Lyngdoh picked up the I-League’s Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender and Best Midfielder Awards respectively.
Skipper Sunil Chhetri was handed the I-League trophy as the Blues reclaimed the trophy in front of the traveling supporters.
