Goa Football Development Council opens 37th Grassroot Football Development Center

The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) have opened their 37th Grassroot Football Development Center, which happens to be the first in the Mormugao Taluka and is situated at the Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School Ground in Cortalim.

The Grassroot Football Development Center was inaugurated by local MLA and Minister for Museum, Science & Technology and Rural Development, Alina Saldanha. She expressed her happiness in seeing the great number of enthusiastic trainees (150 registered so far) and thanks the GFDC and Rev. Fr. Diogo Fernandes, the manager of the school for getting the Grassroot Football Development Center to the village. After interacting with the trainees, she also announced that work on upgradation of the ground will begin shortly.

The GFDC member secretary enumerated the various benefits the trainees would get in life if they excelled and urged the trainees to take full advantage of the training provided at the center.

GFDC chairman Dr. Rufino Monteiro urged the trainees to come regularly for the training sessions and work hard with great dedication and a sense of purpose so that they may shine at national and international level, just as some GFDC trainees have achieved,

Rev. Fr. Diogo Fernandes while expressing his joy at the center opening, thanked Alina Saldanha for her ever ready co-operation and constant help. He also conveyed his gratefulness to GFDC, in particular to its chairman for giving the school and village the Grassroot Football Development Center.
