FC Pune City’s inaugural Corporate Super Cup receives a terrific reception

HDFC Bank beat Fin IQ 3-0 to win the inaugural edition of the FC Pune City Corporate Super Cup which culminated at the Infosys Football Ground on Saturday. The Rajesh Wadhawan Group and Hrithik Roshan co-owned Indian Super League team FC Pune City’s Corporate Super Cup in association with High Mont – Mittal Brothers, SEAC Agro and Infosys has seen some great exhibition of football from the corporate of Pune. The event saw 20 corporate teams battle it out for supremacy.

Rishi Pillay scored the opener in the 12th minute to give HDFC the lead. The second goal was scored by Leroy Almeida in the 24th minute while the third goal was scored in the 42nd minute by Sidharth Puthran which enabled HDFC Bank to walk home with the title.

Gaurav Modwel, CEO FC Pune City said “The first season of the FC Pune City Corporate Super Cup has got tremendous reception. Top corporates of Pune enthusiastically participated and we witnessed some cut throat competition and exciting football. I would like to thank all the participating teams and promise to be back with a bigger and better edition of Corporate Super Cup.” In the meantime, our FC Pune City first team is getting ready for ISL3 and hope to see everyone there.

Tushar Anchan, from HDFC Bank was awarded the best player of the tournament, the best goalkeeper award went to Abhimanyu Chitale of Convergys, the most influential player award went to Pankaj Sasane of Infosys, the most adventurous player winner was Suraj Thapa of Fin IQ and the player who netted the most goals of the tournament was Ramnath Vishwanath of Capgemini.
