DFB and adidas present new Germany home kit

A part of German footballing history is returning to the pitch in a modern and contemporary look. The new home kit, which is based on the design of the World Cup winning away kits of 1990, has been unveiled! The iconic graphic on the front of the shirt will help true football fans remember the victories of yesteryear, which also captures the street and skateboard culture. The home shirt is adorned with a black, red and yellow collar and the World Cup winning badge. The signature three stripes of adidas once again appear on the arms of the shirt.

The new home kit was presented on Sunday evening in Düsseldorf within an Urban Football Gallery, together with national team player Ilkay Gündogan. The national side will start wearing the shirts for their qualification campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, also in Russia.

Mats Hummels had this to say on the shirt, which will be complemented by black shorts and white socks: “I am a big fan of our classic kits. The new one is both cooler and more dynamic and I like it a lot.

Die Mannschaft will wear their new home kit for the first time in the World Cup qualifier against San Marino on the 11th November. The home kit for the Confederations Cup will be available in the DFB online shop, adidas stores and the adidas online shop from Monday. As always, the shirt is also available in childrens’ sizes and a specific women’s version is also available.
