Goa Football Association Executive Committee reviews competition fees for clubs

Goa Football Association (GFA)

The Executive Committee of the Goa Football Association (GFA) met on Saturday under the Chairmanship of the President, Mr. Elvis Gomes in their office at Panaji and reviewed the previous decision regarding increase in participation fee in view of the various representations received from member clubs. The second division and third division clubs are the main beneficiaries of the reviewed decision. “We have considered all the views in this regard. The proposed increase was made with good intention taking into account the increase in cost of organizing a match and at the same time for providing various equipments to the member clubs to ensure that they have the minimum kit required to function. However, the review done is reasonable and is in the interest of the clubs as well as the association” stated Mr. Elvis Gomes. The earlier decision to extend the period for renewal of registration up to 31.05.2017 was also ratified.

The GFA also decided to undertake office repairs and temporarily shift the office for a period of three months during the monsoons i.e. from June to August.

The annual calendar for the coming season 2017-18 was discussed and the Competitions Committee was entrusted with the task of drawing up the calendar. Stakeholders are requested to give their suggestions to the GFA by 31.05.2017 on the official email of the GFA.

The decision taken by the organizers upholding the protest filed by Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club against Anjuna Gymkhana in the “Calangute Association Cup 2017” Inter Village Tournament organized by Calangute Association was endorsed by the Special Committee of the GFA.
