Finally the wait is over as Mohammedan Sporting Club’s Cameroonian striker Aser Pierrick Dipanda Dicka has arrived in Kolkata earlier today to play the forthcoming Calcutta Football League. To receive Dipanda, General Secretary Jb. Ghazal Uz Zafar himself went to airport alongside Youth Development Vice-Chairman Jb. Hasnaian Ahmed.

Mohammedan Sporting Club acquired the services of the talismanic striker in May as their first foreign signing for the new season.

“Dipanda, based on his performance last season, has been one of the most consistent and best strikers in Indian football. I have no doubt that he will bring something totally different. We are confident his stay at Mohammedan Sporting Club will be a successful one,” said Jb. Zafar.

The 28-year-old spent the majority of his career from 2008 to 2014 playing in Spain with Valencia B, La Roda, Olímpic de Xàtiva and UD Alzira. He moved to India in 2015 with DSK Shivajians before joining Shillong Lajong ahead of 2016/17 I-League.

While playing for Lajong, the Cameroonian did not only finish as league’s top scorer with 11 goals in 17 matches but also adjudged as the best striker of the season.

“I am very happy to be a player of Mohammedan Sporting Club. I love new challenges and it’s a very nice challenge for me to come to Mohammedan Sporting Club. I am here to make my contribution and I will be doing my job as best I can,” Dipanda said.
