Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich and DFB-Pokal (German Cup) winners Borussia Dortmund gear up to clash in the Supercup 2017, which will be the first highlight of the new 2017/18 season. The match will be played at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund on August 5 at 20.30 CET.

The Supercup clash between the two German powerhouses will be a matter of pride and rivalry. Bayern Munich are already under pressure due to their poor pre-season results, while Dortmund had also their problems in the last few games.

Both sides will be missing the services of various players including Bayern’s new star midfielder James Rodríguez who picked up an injuries in an Audi Cup encounter against Liverpool FC on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund, popularly known as “Der Klassiker”, will be heralding the dawn of a season for a fifth time since the Deutsche Fußball-Liga (DFL) brought back the competition in 2010.
