FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 Trophy Experience set to wow Kolkata

The FIFA U-17 World Cup Winner’s Trophy will reach the City of Joy, after charming football lovers in New Delhi and Guwahati.

Given the love for the game in Kolkata, the Trophy Experience is expected to draw large crowds who will have the opportunity to see the same Trophy that will be lifted by the winning team of FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, on October 28th.

Current footballers from East Bengal and Mohun Bagan along with former greats, Shyam Thapa, Subrata Bhattacharya and Prasun Banerjee are among the distinguished guests that are expected to join the first-of-a-kind Trophy Experience in Kolkata.

On the 1st September, the Winner’s Trophy will be unveiled in the city at the Khudiram Anushilan Kendra.

On 2nd September, the Trophy Experience will take place at South City International School at a Mission XI Million festival. Children from schools across Kolkata, who are a part of the FIFA U-17 World Cup lndia 2017 legacy programme will get a chance to see the Winner’s Trophy apart from taking part in several football related activities on the pitch.

On 3rd September, Kolkata’s popular Eco Park will host the FIFA U-17 World Cup Winner’s Trophy. A popular tourist spot in the capital, fans can come and see the beautiful piece of silverware and take photographs with it.

Talking about the Kolkata leg of the Trophy Experience, Project Director, LOC, FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, Joy Bhattacharjya said, “Kolkata is where the trophy will be finally given away. So, it naturally is a special city for us. And with the kind of love the people of the city have for football, we are expecting an amazing turnout”.

The Trophy Experience seeks to give everyone – children at the Mission XI Million festival, football fans, residents and tourists – a truly unique experience to see the coveted FIFA U-17 World Cup Official Winner’s Trophy up close.

Football fans and families across India are invited to be part of the Trophy Experience at all six Host Cities, learn more about the tournament, and have their photographs taken with the same piece of silverware that the winning team will lift on October 28th.
