The latest FIFA World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the August rankings, India dropped 10 places to be in 107th position behind Niger, but ahead of Mozambique.

India have 341 points, the same number of points like last month but drop a spot into 13rd position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.

India’s next international matches are in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup – Round 3 qualifier. Next up would be Macau at home on October 10.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Maldives (154th), Afghanistan (160th), Bhutan (174th), Nepal (175th), Bangladesh (196th), Sri Lanka (198th) and Pakistan (200th) in what was a bad month for the region.

There was a major shake-up in the top 5. FIFA World Cup winners and FIFA Confederations Cup champions Germany (1,606 pts) are back at the top ahead of Brazil (1,590 points), while Portugal (1,386 pts) gain three spots to be third ahead of Argentina (1,325 pts) who lost a spot and Belgium (1,265 points) who gained four spots to complete the top five.
