The India U-16 national team have wrapped up the exposure trip to Qatar in style, having registered a humongous 5-0 win over Al Duhail SC at the Duhail Ground in Doha on Friday, September 15 night.

The Bibiano Fernandes-coached team are looking in perfect shape before they fly to Nepal for the forthcoming AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers which is scheduled to kick-off on Wednesday, September 20.

Ravi opened the scoreline in the 3rd minute when he steered a scintillating cross from Givson. Before the clock ticket 20-minute mark, Vikram almost scored the second goal but he missed the target by a whisker.

Ravi doubled the lead six minutes before the break as the boys headed to the dressing room with a comfortable 2-0 lead over the hosts.

Coach Bibiano Fernandes opted to reshuffle the strategy as he introduced Gurkirat at the expense of Sandip at the starting of the second half. Vikram netted the third goal for India five minutes after the hour-mark.

Harpreet, who scored the second goal against Al Sadd SC the other night, was introduced by coach Bibiano Fernandes to introduce more flair in the attacking third.

Givson, who got the assist for the first goal tonight, etched his name on the scoresheet in the 73rd minute, having rattled the back of the net from a direct free-kick.

Super-sub Harpreet proved his worth again tonight as he scored India’s fifth eight minutes from the end of regulation time.

Al Duhail SC had no answer to the flurry of Indian attacks tonight as the visitors took the tie away from them by the scruff of the neck.

The Indian contingent will leave for Nepal on Sunday, September 17 and they’re scheduled to take on Palestine in the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers opener at the Halchowk Stadium in Kathmandu on Wednesday, September 20.
