Carmona SC, St. Anthony’s Club play a drab draw in GFA Third Division League

Carmona Sports Club and St Anthony’s Club, Colva played out a drab draw, in the GFA Third Division League match played at Dando ground, Benaulim, on Thursday.

Despite both the teams fighting to find the winner, the strikers failed to convert their chances upfront. In a match that was played on equal footings both the teams had their fair share of chances in the game.

The Carmona side mostly dominated the match through Alex Rodrigues in the midfield while Christbern Estibeiro and Aiden Martins in the flanks constantly trobling the rival defence while the Colva side mostly relied on counter attacks with Francis Pauskar, Malik Torgal and Clifford Fernandes in the strike.

Carmona SC had the first shy at the goal as Presvil sent in a beautiful ball from the midfield which lobbed in the D-area however the strikers failed to give deserved finishing touches to the ball.

Later, the Colva side had a beautiful chance created by their winger Francis who dribbled past a couple of the rival defenders and sent in a well measured cross to young Malik who was lurking in the box, the latter’s weak header however went off target.

Denzil Coutinho picked a yellow card while Joel Tavares received a red after he received the second yellow before match ended in a goalless draw.

At Curtorim ground, Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club thumped Uguem Rising Club 6-1.

Avon Fenandes scored a brace, Joy Fernandes, Ravil Fernandes, F. Fernandes and Gladson D’Çosta scored a goal each for Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club while Milfred Dias pulled a goal back for Uguem Rising Club.

In another match at Navelim ground, Carmel Sports Club downed Sporting Club Davorlim 2-0.

At Raia ground, Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club got a walkover after the St Sebastian Youth Club, Fatorda failed to turn up at the venue.

Elsewhere, Milagres Sports Club scored a fluent 2-0 win over Sirsaim Sports and Welfare Club, at Duler ground. There was no score at the half time. Swapnesh scored a brace for the winners.

At Parra ground, Holiday Sports Club beat Nerul Sports Club 4-2. Sachin, Ishwar, Saiesh and Palav scored a goal each for the winners.

In another match at Nachinola ground, Bastora United SCC went down fighting 2-3 against Youth Sports Club of Colvale.
