The Germany U-17 national team face Guinea U-17 today in their final Group C match of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.

Head coach Christian Wück’s team kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 win against Costa Rica, but had suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Iran.

Germany could book their place in the Round of 16, if they win their match against Guinea at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

“We are very confident that the team will show their real potential today,” assistant coach Rainer Zietsch told. “The boys are capable to do much better and they are in control of their own destiny to advance in the competition with a win.”

The Germans are determined to win their final group game and they are not looking to advance with a draw or even a loss, which would demand some calculations.

Iran are currently on top of Group C with 6 points, followed by Germany (3 points), Costa Rica (1 point) and Guinea (1 point).
