Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran elected as new Delhi Soccer Association president

The Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) held its Annual General Body meeting in the capital in which a new executive committee of the DSA was elected.

Former FIFA South & Central Asia Development Officer Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran was elected as the new Delhi Soccer Association president, while veteran administrator N.K. Bhatia was elected as DSA treasurer. All have been elected for a term of four years.

Besides these two principal office-bearers; Magan Singh Patwal, Jagdish Malhotra, and Rajesh Joshi were also elected unopposed as DSA joint secretaries. The six vice-presidents elected were Anadi Barua, Anuj Gupta, Hem Chand, Syed Khurram Raza, Shonal Gupta, and Sq. Ldr. S.K. Singh.

Besides these, the ten executive elected members were Anand Dabas, Bankim Datta, Benny Joseph, Hafiz Shahid, Har Gopal, Jaspal Singh, Kamal Suman, Mohammed Aslam, Sunil Dutt, and V.C. Bhatt.

As many as 70 council members attended the AGM presided over by outgoing president Subhash Chopra who thanked all the members present for their whole hearted support and cooperation during all these years towards the development of the game in the capital. Outgoing Secretary Syed Shaheen convened the meeting.

Retd. High Court Justice S.R. Singh and District Judge Nagar were the returning officers to conduct the elections in a smooth and fair manner, while AIFF observer Retd. Col. Brij Mehta supervised the elections.
