Teams arrive in Kolhapur for Indian Women’s League qualifiers

After the success of the inaugural season, the Indian Women’s League (IWL) makes a comeback with the arrival of the teams ahead of the November 25 commencement of the qualifiers at the Rajarshi Shahu Stadium in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

A total of 13 teams will be vying for two coveted spots to enter the six-team Final Round of the Indian Women’s League. Teams from all across India have converged in the town known for its football craze, with the dream and aspiration of winning the IWL.

Defending champions Eastern Sporting Union from Manipur will look to keep their grasp on the title intact as they take on teams like – Sethu FC (Tamil Nadu), Chandney Sporting Club (West Bengal), Indira Gandhi Academy for Sports & Education (Pondicherry), United Warriors Sporting Club (Punjab), Capital Complex Sporting Club (Arunachal Pradesh), Baroda Football Academy (Gujarat), Rising Student Club (Odisha), KRYPSHA (Manipur), Hans Women’s Football Club (Delhi), J&K State Sports Council (Jammu & Kashmir), Rush Soccer (Maharashtra) and the SAI Women’s Football Team.

The teams have been divided into two groups with the qualifiers ending on December 8 after which the top side from each group will be the ones to make it to the Final Round.
