DFB-Pokal Frauen

The draw for the 2018/19 German Women’s Cup (DFB-Pokal der Frauen) 1st Round took place at the German FA (DFB) headquarters in Frankfurt yesterday. The draw was conducted by former Germany Women’s international Renate Lingor at the sidelines of a manager meeting of the Women’s Bundesliga 2.

A total of 50 teams will be participating in the 2018/19 German Women’s Cup. All twelve teams who were part of the recently concluded 2017/18 Women’s Bundesliga 1 (Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga) season, as well as newly promoted clubs Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach have been handed a first-round bye.

The remaining 36 teams were divided into two draw pots based on their regionality. Pot 1 featured all teams from North Germany, while Pot 2 featured all teams based in South Germany.

The 1st Round matches will be played on August 11 and 12. The 2nd Round has been scheduled for September 8/9 and it will feature the 14 top teams, including defending champions VfL Wolfsburg, who received a first-round bye.
