Chanmari FC needed extra-time goals from Laldampuia and Lalmuanzova to rise above rivals Aizawl FC to book their place in the final of the Lalbiakliana Memorial MFA Super Cup 2018. The semifinal was played at Lammual ground, Aizawl on Thursday, July 19.

It was goals galore in the battle of former MPL champions with Chanmari FC taking the lead in the 20th minute from Laldampuia’s spot kick. The lead lasted only fourteen minutes however as Lalchhuanawma Varte equalised for Aizawl FC.

R. Lalawmpuia struck six minutes before halftime to give Chanmari FC the lead again but a David Lalrinmuana strike in the second half led to the game needing an extra 30 minutes.

Two goals in nine minutes in the first period of extra-time from Laldampuia and Lalmuanzova was enough to ensure victory for Chanmari FC despite a late goal from Jonathan Lalrawngbawla.

Chanmari FC will battle either Mizoram Police FC or Chhinga Veng FC in the final.
