Reigning champions Chhinga Veng FC continued their winning run in the campaign with a 1-0 victory over MPL newcomers Chawnpui FC.

M.S. Dawngliana continued his red hot form for Chhinga Veng FC as his second half strike ensured victory for his team which sees them top their group with four wins in four games.

Although they were made to wait for their goal, Chhinga Veng FC looked comfortable against their opponents and they could have had more had it not been for some wayward finishing and misfortune in front of goal.

They will now face neigbours Electric Veng FC in an Aizawl East Derby in the semifinals on Saturday evening.

Chawnpui FC had hopes of qualifying for the semifinals coming into the match, but their result now ensures them as third in their group with Mizoram Police FC in second as a result of a better head to head record.
