Mohammedan Sporting Club ‘B’ crowned champions in JSB Memorial Gold Cup

Mohammedan Sporting Club ‘B’ edged past Baarhoongkha AC 1-0 in the final to clinch the title in the 17th Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary Memorial Gold Cup today at Bangaldoba in Chirang, Assam.

Led by defender Ainish Zamadar Mohammedan Sporting ‘B’ began their campaign against Shillong Laban SC in the quarterfinal which they won 4-2 on penalties on Tuesday.

Then Mohammedan Sporting ‘B’ outplayed Shillong Regiment 4-2 in the semifinal on Friday thanks to a hattrick by first team skipper Philip Adjah Tetteh, who joined the team ahead of the clash.

Up against local outfit Baarhoongkha AC in the title decider, Suman Ghoshal’s charges put on an excellent show to win the match 1-0 thanks to Mohammad Amirul’s lone goal. Adjah was adjudged Man of the match in the final. The team were presented with trophy and cash reward of Rs. 75,000.
