Indian Super League franchise FC Pune City have announced that Canadian striker Iain Hume is signing for them for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

By signing Hume, FC Pune City replace Uruguayan striker Emiliano Alfaro, who over the weekend left on loan to join former ISL champions ATK.

Hume, who is the highest goalscorer in the history of Indian Super League, has plied his trade in ISL with Kerala Blasters FC and ATK scoring 28 goals in four seasons and having made 59 appearances so far.

In February, Hume suffered a knee injury that ruled him out of action for the rest of the last season. Thereafter he has undergone a surgery on his right knee and has been doing his rehabilitation in India and the UK, and then joined the training of FC Pune City in pre-season.

FC Pune City’s interim coach Pradyum Reddy expressed his delight with having the mercurial forward in his team and said, “I am looking forward to it. Iain will be a welcome addition to the team both in the dressing room and out there on the field. He has been raring to go and we look forward to see him on the field.”
