The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Mizoram Football Association (MFA) organised Referee Development Course got underway on Monday, November 19 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Aizawl. The course will be completed on November 22.

59 referees reported for the course on the first day, while more from different districts are still expected.

Mizoram FA Honorary Secretary Lalnghinglova Hmar spoke at the launch saying referees are integral in the progress of the sport in the state. He also stated, “While there are competent Mizo referees in the practical field, we lack the persistence to pass exams that will qualify us for the national level.”

Two referee instructors from the AIFF – Rizwan Ul Haq and Supriya Bhattacharya will conduct the course.

The launch ceremony was conducted by MFA Referee Committee Chairman C. Vanlalmawia who spoke of the endeavours that the MFA had taken prior to this year’s course in the development of referees.
