The former German international asked his players to question the own attitude, before they “spoil the dream of winning the Champions League final next Saturday.”

“I think it was an evening to the displeasure of everyone sitting here,” said Rummenigge. “I think we need to draw lessons from this match. It is not a coincidence, if you lose 2-5. It’s even not misfortune. One has to clearly say that we witnessed a humiliation tonight.”

“We will be playing a very important match on Saturday – the final of the Champions League,” the chairman continued. “I think we have a chance to sit pretty with the most important title in club football next Saturday, if we all question the own attitude and why we lost this match in such a way and result.”

Rummenigge pleaded to the team to play with passion, will power and aggressiveness, when they face Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League final.

“I hope all of us will experience an evening full of happiness, satisfaction and pride next Saturday,” Rummenigge added.
