Vietnam refuse to play India

Vietnam v India

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has turned down a proposal to play the Indian national team in an international friendly match on October 19.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) offered to play Vietnam at the My Dinh National Stadium in an aim to give the Indian team international exposure.

Vietnam’s national coach Phan Thanh Hung agreed to play the Indian team, but the deal fell through “due to demands made by the AIFF” according to statements made by VFF officials in Vietnamese media.

The AIFF “requested to place advertising billboards in the My Dinh Stadium” as part of the deal sent to the VFF on September 31 with a 24-hour deadline to answer the proposal.

But the VFF denied the proposal due to “difficulties to clear the request” by the AIFF within the mentioned deadline.
