Avramovic: Indian football is marching ahead

Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic

Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic has followed the progress of the Indian national team over last few years and the experienced coach has witnessed the improvements made by the Indian team.

“It’s pretty obvious. It’s obvious Indian football is marching ahead and I feel at a rapid pace,” Avramovic told at the pre-match press conference.

“India played in the Asian Cup in Doha and had some good matches. There are six players of that team who are in Singapore for the international friendly. We need to stop them,” the coach continued.

Avramovic spotted India’s main strength up-front namely Sporting Clube de Portugal star Sunil Chhetri.

“Most importantly, we need to stop that guy,” Avramovic pointed to Chhetri. “We can’t afford to give him space.”

“This match stays important for us as we will be using this as a platform to prepare for the Suzuki Cup.”

“We need to create chances and we will,” Avramovic added. “We will speak about that after tomorrow’s match.”

Meanwhile, India skipper Sunil Chhetri felt that the Singapore game will not be easy as reported earlier [+ read more]. Sunil hopes that the match will help the Indian team to improve and to reach the future goals.
