FIFA Match Days – Your Guide for 2013

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced its intention to arrange friendly matches for the Indian national team on official FIFA Match Days to improve the position in the FIFA World Ranking.

The official match days are part of the official annual calender scheduled by football’s world governing body FIFA. The FIFA Calender includes various tournaments, qualifiers, etc. for all age groups and of course dates for friendly and international matches.

Football clubs around the globe are obliged to release a player for a game on these official match days, if called-up for national duty by a FIFA member association.

The last FIFA Match Day for the year 2012 was November 14 and India was scheduled to play Yemen on that day. But Yemen pulled pulled out of the fixture as reported earlier [+ read more].

Friendly Match Day = Date for friendly matches
International Match Days = Date for qualifiers, friendly matches, etc.
