FAO announce format and groups for Odisha’s 1st Division

Football Association of Odisha meeting

The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) has announced the format and the groups for the upcoming FAO 1st Division League. The decisions were taken during a meeting at the O.C.A. Conference Hall with members from all 26 participating teams taking part in the function on Sunday.

It was decided that the 26 teams would be divided into six groups and the top two teams of each group would qualify to the FAO Super League. The twelve teams of the FAO Super League would be drawn into two groups, while the top two teams of each group would advance to the semifinals. The winners of the two semifinal matches would face each other in the final to crown the new champipon.

The FAO 1st Division League is scheduled to start on May 19, while the Inter Club Transfer period will be open April 1 to 15.

The FAO 2nd Division League and the FAO Women’s League will be held in the June/July 2013.
