Dempo SC have officially announced the spectacular signing of Roberto ‘Beto’ Mendes Silva from Goan rivals Churchill Brothers SC.

The 34 year old Brazilian star will make a comeback for Dempo after spending two years at Churchill, whom he guided to the 2012/13 I-League title.

Beto played for Dempo from 2006 to 2011 before joining Churchill. The Sao Paulo born medio won three I-League titles during his first spell with Dempo.

Meanwhile, Dempo have confirmed various other players for the new season. The players are goalkeepers Subhasish Roy Chowdhury and Laxmikant Kattimani, defender Debabrata Roy, midfielders Godwin Franco, Clifford Miranda and ex-Mumbai FC player Gabriel Fernandes.

Dempo would make an announcement on the new coach for the upcoming season at a later stage according to a club press release.
