Salgaocar FC

Salgaocar FC will launch its Football Community Outreach Programme on Sunday, the 15th of September at Regina Mundi Ground, Vasco da Gama.

The Programme is open to boys and girls from 6 – 11 years of age and aims to develop technical skills, inculcate the sporting spirit and a love for the beautiful game. “Our Club President, Shivanand Salgaocar has always believed very strongly in giving back to the community and promoting football amongst passionate youngsters. This community outreach initiative in association with Vasco schools has provided SFC with the perfect opportunity to combine both these efforts,” said Swati Salgaocar, Vice President – Youth Development.

SFC head coach Derrick Pereira will guide the coaches and oversee the technical training and skill development despite his busy senior team schedule. “This programme aims to give our kids the chance to learn and develop their football skills in a systematic way. The focus needs to shift from indoor games to outdoor activities like football to keep children healthy, fit and disciplined.”

For a token registration fee of Rs. 300 per year, SFC will provide the kids with weekly training sessions with professional Coaches, Club kit (jersey + shorts), session on fitness and nutrition for parents of young footballers and free entry to SFC games for each participant and their parent.

This Community initiative is in addition to the SFC Youth Development programme provided free of cost for boys from 12 -19 years who are interested in a career in football. The Club also partners with local schools to promote football and has collaborated with Salcete Football Club in setting up a football development centre in Sao Jose de Areal, South Goa.

To register, contact Nikhil Alvares on 7875529774 by the 10th of September 2013.
